Italian food is always a popular choice for a meal out amongst diners and the dining population of Lancashire town of Preston are no exception. Following great success with his Italian Takeaway Gusto Italia, owner Vito Bruno has now opened his very own restaurant in the Ashton on Ribble area of the town, similarly called Gusto d’Italia. The restaurant serves all of the classic dishes of its older sibling, along with plenty of other mouth-watering options.
Choose from a wide variety of fresh pasta options, such as tagliatelle with chicken livers and mushrooms in a sage and red wine sauce, or go for a pizza, made fresh to order and cooked in the gas fired pizza oven. Steaks are always a safe bet too at Gusto d’Italia, with the chargrilled rib eye with garlic and lemon oil served with rosemary potatoes a real winner. Tuck into a divine loin of pork with goat’s cheese, mixed peppers and chilli sauce for a myriad of flavours, or enjoy the fresh, simple flavours of the fish casserole with squid, king prawns and mussels. The wine list spans the main Italian wine regions with some great, affordable choice to match each dish – making for an ideal way to dip into those magnificent tastecard savings.
The dining room has been designed with both comfort and style in mind with cool dark wood furnishings and a huge open kitchen where diners can get a great view of the chefs at work. Families find the restaurant’s laid back ambience ideal and there is a dedicated kid’s menu for the little ones to choose from.
Whatever the dining occasion, whether a mid-week dinner out or special celebration, Gusto d’Italia ticks all of the right boxes.
Please note: The tastecard discount is unavailable in December.
