Tuck into a divine starter of monkfish marinated in yoghurt, caraway seeds and spices and cooked over charcoal with a tomato salsa, or sample a typical Indian street food dish of papdi chaat – a short crust flour cake served with a yoghurt and tamarind sauce and chopped onions and tomatoes. Mains are just as exciting with a stellar duck tikka masala or the amazing Keralan fish curry made with pot roasted halibut in a rich masala gravy. The homestyle lamb curry cooked on the bone in a sealed pot is another winning dish. Fans of the traditional curries won’t be disappointed either, all of the classic feature on the menu.
The dining room at Bayleaf Kitchen is a stylish space complete with ornate chandelier lighting and chic furnishings. Service is fantastic at the restaurant and just another reason why this lovely Indian eatery is so very popular in Southampton.
