Recently revitalised with a stunning renovation, Gwesty'r Emlyn is Newcastle Emlyn’s answer to a cosy, independently run hotel that provides haven for both travellers and locals alike.
Now accepting the tastecard, members who call in advance can kick back and relax with some fantastic savings at the delightful Bar, which provides plenty of light bites and hearty meals that cater to all appetites.
Lead by the creative Head Chef Simon Briscoe, the kitchen cooks up plenty to satisfy all palates. Great partners to a few drinks are the small plates, including the scrumptious homemade quiche of the day, paired with a mixed leaf salad and new potatoes, and the eclectic charcuterie platter, consisting of Welsh cheeses and an ensemble of cured meats.
The main courses, for those seeking a satisfying yet informal meal, include a wealth of delectable dishes, such as the wondrous Portobello mushroom burger, served with onion rings and triple cooked chips, the classic battered local cod, complete with a pea puree and homemade tartare sauce, and the succulent 10oz sirloin, presented on a hot lava stone so that guests can cook it to their own level of perfection.
