Named after the owner’s family, Lena’s is a charming restaurant and pizzeria that specialises in fine Italian cuisine.
After creating pizzas since his teens, learning his craft in Naples, amassing a wealth of experience in Sydney and London, and being awarded 10th place in the Pizza World Championships, Aniello Lena decided to begin his own culinary adventure in Battersea.
Now accepting the tastecard, members who call in advance can enjoy everything on the diverse and delicious menu at an excellent price, providing the perfect excuse to indulge with a little extra, whether it’s one of the heavenly desserts served or a glorious pairing from the eclectic wine list.
Begin the experience with one of the exemplary antipasti, or appetisers, such as the scrumptious Melanzana Arrosto, aubergine baked in a wooden fire with oregano, Mozzarella and extra virgin olive oil, the tantalising Fagioli alla Messicana, a medley of Neapolitan sausages and stewed borlotti beans enriched with chilli, and the juicy beef meatballs, adorned with a tomato sauce.
Diners have the choice between a cornucopia of delectable pizza and pasta options, the former being cooked in a traditional wood fired oven built brick by brick by Neapolitan artisans. A mere handful of these delights include the rich homemade ravioli, filled with spinach, tomato sauce and Ricotta, the scrumptious Ripieno, topped with rocket leaves, Parmesan and parma ham, and the classic spaghetti carbonara, complete with eggs and pancetta bacon.
Those still beset by a sweet tooth can find satisfaction in any one of the divine desserts, allowing guests to enjoy a full three course meal at Lena’s.
