I have been visiting the Brasserie with friends and family for over 10 years for numerous occassion. We kept going back because it's never let us down. The day before Valentine's Day, my partner and I visited for the first time with a Tastecard. We tried a mixture of all-time favourite (e.g. duck confit) with something new on the menu (duck pate starter), and again the food came out really nice. We always arrive at a busy time and that has never seemed to affect the quality of food and services. We've sampled many dishes on the menu and they are all nicely done. Abdel was our server too and he's gentle and attentive. The management has always been very accommodating with requests too, to take away any obstacle there may be in affecting your dining experience.
The ambidence is different on the two floors --- the ground floor is a mixture of a busier lounge (with people going back and forth) and a quieter sofa-lined room, whereas the first floor resembles the quieter ground floor room but without the sofas. In summer time, the top floor's windows will be opened. Sitting under a slowly rotating fan and having a gentle breeze through the window is quite a relaxing experience.
For people with the Covent Garden Everydine Rewards card, here comes the pleasant surprise. (The Brasserie is a praticipating restaurant of the Rewards scheme.) I took out my Rewards card, just to check how much credit I've got on it. To my surprise, Abdel told me that I could earn reward points on the card for the meal, alongside the Tastecard 241 offer. That just made the very competitively-priced meal even better value. With consistent good food, good service, good value, great location, warm ambience, why would I not come back next time?
