This hidden gem off Clapham High Street is a real find. Tucked away in a secluded residential street close to the open spaces of Clapham Common The Stonhouse boasts a gorgeous heated beer garden, fantastic dining spaces and a roaring log fire in Winter.
A modern neighbourhood pub, The Stonhouse offers an excellent selection of wines, cocktails, draught beers and well-kept cask ales for discerning drinkers. Food lovers will appreciate the extensive Modern European menu, in particular our superb Argentinean steaks, rotisserie chickens and big salads.
This, combined with a warm welcome and friendly service, makes The Stonhouse the perfect place for weekend brunch, a traditional Sunday lunch, a delicious three-course dinner or a hearty pint and a pie.
At The Stonhouse, they offer daily changing specials and a menu which evolves over the course of the day, crafted by their Executive Chef Massimo Tebaldi. Kickstart your day with their sublime brunch. Ease in with Eggs Benedict or go all-out with our famous Seven Deadly Sins full English breakfast.
Lunchtime promises hearty sandwiches, authentic burgers and healthy salads, or dip into their array of side dishes at any time. Typical dishes on the dinner and weekend menu include manuka smoked salmon pate with granary toast or goat’s cheese and courgette tart to start. For the main course, tuck in to a hearty rib-eye steak with béarnaise sauce and salad, mash or chips, or pumpkin and ricotta ravioli. For dessert, indulge in apple and blackberry crumble with custard or double chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.

A Gem of a gastro pub, a nice range of starters, and literally spoilt for choice, the Shetland scallops (as starter) and the duck liver parfait were both gourmet delights... The mains of the duck comfit and the steak were both mouth-watering and the rare cooked steak was done to perfection, with a beautiful entourage of vegetables/accompaniments. The proof of the pudding was the pudding itself: the pear and apple crumble; with a topping to die for! Rates among the best crumbles we have ever had! A fine dessert wine for just £3 with the pudding! And with their recommendation; Ramos Pinto white port was a revelation! Nicest staff around and this was a weekday dining experience that we'll cherish for long! A hidden gem indeed and towers above other Clapham restaurants! And there is a lovely outdoor dining area to boot when the weather improves too!

I took my mum here on Monday evening, and we were blown away by how good it was. We booked a table for 6.30pm, feeling a little silly asking to book on a Monday evening; but it's a good job we did - the place was busy the whole evening. And we could see why. Lovely ambiance, brilliant food, and 50% off the bill. There's a lot of competition in Clapham, so being on tastecard must be a major attractor for the Stonhouse. We had potted beef and mackerel pate to start (both wonderful, and with lovely bread and an interesting mix of accompaniments); mussels and belly pork for mains; and brownie and banoffee pie for desserts - with pudding wine added for just £3 each. We were absolutely stuffed, but really wanted three courses as it all looked so good. Much more than just pub food, but not too fancy that it's OTT. Very good staff too, which makes a nice change. Overall a great experience; as long as they're on tastecard, we'll be going back very soon!

almost perfect. I had a delicious steak and Guinness pie with creamy mash which was great but they got my partner's main completely wrong (although he said what he did get was nice!) Finally we had a New York cheesecake which unfortunately was pretty awful. All in all though a tasty meal and great value with taste card.

"Had dinner at Stonhouse with a girlfriend. Both locals but had never known about this place - will certainly be back now though! Quite busy when we arrived at 7pm but by 8pm it was packed. Really buzzy with a young professional crowd.
Service friendly and helpful and food great! Really interesting and varied choices on the menu made it difficult to choose. Good selection of wines at reasonable prices.
Never felt rushed to leave the table and always someone around when you needed something.
