The Green Tea restaurant food is based on traditional, healthy, family-oriented cuisine from the BenXi region of north east China.
The best tasting dishes are simple classics cooked from the heart and given plenty of love and attention.
Using only the healthiest cooking methods, at Green Tea you will find that there is less deep fried food, less salt and less sugar. They like to keep it simple and healthy. Their signature dish is our belly pork stew, which the north east people of China usually have to beat the cold and dry winters. They also specialise in jiaozi (dumplings filled with meat or vegetables), seasoned with sesame oil. Preparing and eating jiaozi together is a tradition in many northern Chinese homes to enjoy family reunions and celebrate the New Year.
They have also introduced a healthy menu, which uses even more green vegetables and has less fat. For this menu, the ingredients, cooking methods and dishes have been devised with Didsbury based Personal Trainer and Food Nutritional Scientist, Michael Bach.
Every dish in this Healthy Menu is created using the freshest ingredients. They use only sea salt in their cooking, no artificial sweeteners and no sugar and only use coconut or olive oil. All of their dishes are freshly prepared by our Green Tea chefs. They shell their own fresh king prawns. They grind their own peppercorns and chillies. Green Tea endeavour to source local, organic ingredients wherever possible.
