This Bradford city centre Public House has been given a new lease of life, reopening as a Polish bar, restaurant and music venue called Balanga. New owner John Poltorak has converted the former Market Tavern in Godwin Street, adjoining the Kirkgate Centre.
The bar is well stocked with Polish vodkas and draught Polish lager Zywiec sitting next to John Smith’s Yorkshire bitter and Polish chefs in the kitchen.
Balanga is becoming very popular, not only within Polish and other Eastern European communities but also with indigenous locals who have welcomed a new bar and restaurant in town. He has recruited Polish and English speaking staff to ensure that customers are given a warm welcome and good service seven days a week.
You will find some of the best Polish dishes being served here, including Bigos (Hunter’s Stew), Pierogi, Sauerkraut and Golabki.
So if you fancy something different, why not visit the Balanga. As the Polish would say, "Jedzcie, pijcie i popuszczajcie pasa"... "Eat, drink and loosen your belt".
