I went there with my girlfriend on Thursday evening. Unfortunately no Piano player when we were there, but just loud dance music coming from the speakers. Service was quick and friendly. Crab and Prawn starter was very poor. Steak and Lobster came without the sauce. We received the sauce at the end of our meal. Apologetic waiter gave us a complimentary dessert which was the best part of the meal. We would not rush back, that's for sure. "

Simon said "Very good food.
Good atmosphere in the restaurant. Service was average, appeared to be inexperienced staff who were not overly attentive as had to ask for condiments and actually request béarnaise sauce rather than be given a choice, then the explanation that all steaks come with peppercorn unless alternative requested, good job we asked then as no one told us!

We ordered a coke that was nearly as weak as the glass of water my wife had and when I returned it to get a decent replacement took ages. No complaints with the wine or whisky. As this was a pre theatre trip we only had time for a main course. We ordered one fish and chips, two ribeye steaks and a fillet steak. It has to be said the food quality was excellent. Perfectly cooked, great portion size and delicious. Had to ask for the bill twice and no tastecard discount had been applied, but it was changed quickly enough when I challenged it. Despite the minor hiccups set out, the quality of the food and overall atmosphere means we will return and will recommend Ruby Blue to friends and colleagues. "

"Agree with Brian on this one - a must book. We had tickets to the theatre so popped in for a quick meal. Hubs had the steak and half a lobster. I had chicken salad (will be steak next time as I tried hubs and it was delicious) + we had a cocktail each and a large wine each. Came to £35.55 including service charge. We also had ordered the drink in happy hour. Also was worried on entrance as it looked all nightclub like but restaurant was fab. Will definitely be going back. Myri "

"In central London with a tastecard? Book this immediately! Fantastic value. Two adults x3 courses + two adults x2 courses +2 champagne cocktails +1 beer +2 bottles of wine = £78 including £13 service charge [but note there is a space for another tip on the credit card payment slip]. We ordered the drinks during happy 'hour' 5-8pm. Spacious, comfortable, nicely lit dining-room with good food pleasantly served. Toilets spotless. The downside? Only that the outside and entrance area gave me the feeling that I was entering an establishment that I was not going to feel comfortable in. How wrong was I? Brian "

"I've been to Ruby Blue with the tastecard about 3 times now and it’s always great food. I was a bit put off the first time as it was part of a chain, and included a nightclub etc. However all my fears were put to rest - the dining room is really lovely (though could be better lit) and the food is always great. The service is usually very good and friendly and the added bonus of happy hour makes this fantastic value - a firm favourite whenever I'm in town and need a good value meal! Laura "

"This has to be one of my fav places to eat, the food is always so delicious and it's an absolute bonus to have happy hour as well as the tastecard! It does tend to get busy after 7ish but the service is still always great! Most recent visit the bill came to £46.55 (including service charge) and that was for 2 starters, 2 mains, 1 side & 6 champagne cocktails...and if you still have room their desserts are always excellent!! Would definitely recommend! Laura "

"I loved eating at Ruby Blue.  I was quite impressed with the layout and design of the place.  The food was delicious, ended up eating a three course meal.  A great bonus having a tastecard because it can become very pricey.  I also visited between the hours of 5-8pm, happy hour, so I also had a bottle of wine for half the price. I have decided to attend the nightclub attached to the restaurants this coming Saturday.  I am looking so forward to it. Patricia   "

"I had book another place round the corner which had shut (and not told us). Therefore stuck without a booking. I went into Ruby Blue's explained this and they accepted the tastecard without question. The food was great, Steak was cooked perfectly. Also happy hour so what a bonus. We will be back soon Sally   "

"Chose this restaurant as it was just opposite the theatre we were going to but turned out to be a great choice. We arrived during happy hour so all the drinks were half price but didn't realise until we got the bill that the wine was also half price! Food was excellent but a bit disappointed by the fact that they had run out of lamb steak - at 7.30! Otherwise service was good, piano player was excellent. 4 cocktails, main courses and pudds plus a bottle of wine was £75 and that included the service charge!! Definitely going back when I'm in London in November - maybe they will have some lamb steaks by then! Robyn "

"  18.08.10   Seven of us turned up before a performance to the ENO Ballet. The waiter was lovely and polite, however, the rest of the service waiters seem to stand around alot and we had to wait until our original waiter turned back up! Apart from that the food and drinks were top rated and we have all experienced excellent establishments! The lamb steak was succulent and my salmon was perfectly done. 9 Cocktails and 7 mains came to £93.00 including service charge! BARGAIN.   Lucinda   "

The food was fantastic. I had the baked Cambert followed by surf and turf. Suculant sirloin and half a lobster and a ton of chips. very yummy. We had 5 cocktails between us and a starter and a main each total bill £48 including at 10% tip. I cant wait to go back. Excellent Sally   "

"Don't let the website put you off. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful (not as featered in the photo above) and the food is very tasty and very well priced. The live pianist was great and the cocktails are really good value. Would definitely go back! Lianne "

"Have been here twice now. Excellent location for pre theatre dinner and there is the double bonus of happy hour on drinks if you get there early! Seven of us ate before heading to the theatre and the food was excellent, great waiters and superb start to the evening. The decor has changed from the photo shown on Taste website. It's very glamorous now!  Enjoy! Lian Oliver "

"I went here with three friends on a Thursday night and we had a great time. I would recommend eating in the restaurant rather than the bar, we had a pianist which really lifted the atmosphere. The menu is better than the website indicates - I had big juicy prawns and a fantastic fillet steak, but it genuinely was hard to choose. 3 courses, a bottle of wine and a bottle of champagne came to just under £40 each. Loved it. Emma "
