Channings in Edinburgh is an informal, relaxed hotel with a very friendly approach. It occupies five stunning Edwardian townhouses in Stockbridge; one of Edinburgh's most popular 'urban villages'. It also houses one of the finest restaurants in Edinburgh: Shackleton's Bar & Brasserie, a delightful neighbourhood bistro with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and a well put together all day menu.
Head Chef Adam Lonski uses fresh, seasonal and organic ingredients wherever possible, and has come up with some great taste combinations. Try the satisfying Discovery Burger, the Roast Poussin with corn puree, spinach, potatoes and pan jus, or the simple, yet delectable duck breast, served with curly kale. Another highly recommended and popular dish is the lamb rump.
The dessert menu, innovatively quipped 'Journey's End' features sticky toffee pudding, chocolate tart, lemon cheesecake and a locally sourced cheese board.
If the weather is sunny, visitors can even dine al fresco on Channing’s beautiful sun deck, which captures the sun throughout the day.
Please Note: Shackleton's Bar offers 50% off the new bar menu which runs daily from 12pm – 2pm and 6pm – 9.45pm.
