I ate at The Axis Bar in the Hilton Hotel, Islington and it was quite an enjoyable experience. The decor was funky and the atmosphere was laid back. The waiter was very helpful and understanding when I told him about my tastecard and he was quite quick with serving me as well. Both my courses were piping hot when served. The carbonara was surprisingly large for a starter and it was delicious, but the pancetta was a little on the salty side. I had grilled chicken with wild mushroom sauce, chips, mushroom and tomato as my main course. I was satisfied with being given a whole tomato; however I felt there weren't enough chips on my plate. In spite of this, the waiter gave me some small jars of ketchup and mayonnaise, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall the food was delicious, the atmosphere was chilled and the service was reasonable.

It was Sunday lunchtime and we were only people in the whole place we waited for drinks for 10 minutes, after that we ordered food, me and my boyfriend are vegetarians so I ordered stuffed cheese pasta £8 and he ordered King prawn pasta what price was £20, I asked the waitress will the prawns will be as big as we are as the price was 3 times more than my pasta. Food came after another 30minutes, and my boyfriend received pasta carbonara. No prawns just little bits of bacon, took me a while to call the waiter back, he switched the dish just and brought over the same pasta with tiny little prawns in it. I refused to take it and he finished my dish. The manager of the place was pretty rude and really not helpful. We got served by 3 different waiters and every each of one we had to explain what is wrong. I would never go back to this place, don’t know where is the Hilton service. Worst place in Islington i do understand now why there are no people in there.

" A lovely looking place, unfortunately the food and service did not live up to expectations. We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks-(the restaurant had about 3 other guests there) so no excuse for such a slow service. The food was average; the platter which was meant for two people came with one small singed flour wrap, and some other bits and pieces. It was lucky that my boyfriend ordered another main course otherwise we would have both left starving. For 50% off I guess I can't complain too much but was expecting much more especially from such a prestigious place.

"Although the price is great for the food you can eat here, unfortunately the service wasn't very good on the day we visited. The restaurant was not as busy as it could have been so I'm not too sure as to why our meals took so long however the staff were good at dealing with the situation once we brought it to their attention and the food was enjoyable.
Lovely clean decor and atmosphere.
I wouldn't be put off to revisit the restaurant as I'm sure it would be a more positive experience.

"Excellent service warm & friendly. Great value for money for HIlton restaurant they are much cheaper than the restaurant on the upper street. My girlfiend and I loved every moment. It was a dining experience ;)
