Great setting, very small so we sat outside. The waiter didn't seem very well, maybe through stress we don't know. The menu was a bit limited and food choice uninspiring. When the chicken salad came, the lettuce was actually brown. When the main course of rabbit finally came, it was much worse than I could have cooked at home, fried onions and bland wedges piled next to a generous amount of rabbit, which was the only saving grace. The other main of duck was acceptable but nothing new. A full service charge on top meant we left no tip. Something seriously needs to change here. "

Six of us visited this little restaurant a few days ago and we all agreed that we must repeat the experience as soon as possible.

It was my wife's and my third visit. The menu is sensible and not extensive; very tasty and generously ample starters and excellent main courses.

For those who still had a gap, the home made sweets were spot on. Perhaps the wine list is a little overpriced, but what restaurant's isn't!

The service was quick, efficient and cheerful. All in all, a very happy evening. "

This was a stunning little place. Seen loads of great reviews about this little place online. We thought we would go and check it out.

They had just started their new menu, the chap that was taking care of us explained that they change the menus quite often. We had the lamb steak which was stunning; for starters my wife had the Antipasti which was massive! I got to enjoy some too!

We booked in for a Christmas party with the family. We are looking forward to it! "

" After reading all the reviews my husband and I decided to try this restaurant. It was a Thursday night and we didn’t want an expensive meal hence why we opted to use the tastecard.

We were so wrong to come here. This restaurant is all about pushing the sales. As soon as we walked in, we haven’t even had a chance to take our coats off or even sit down, we were asked if we would like a glass of prosecco, we said no, then we were offered a gin & tonic, we again said no thank you, then it was a bottle of wine, again we said no thank you and finally maybe some bread and olives, so we said OK. The bread rolls were hard and cold and the olives were nice. But this little starter cost us £6.90!

The restaurant is very small. I think there are five tables in total. The tables are so close together I couldn’t pull my chair out and sit down; I had to kind of squeeze myself in. Next to my chair a portable heater was blowing really hot air and it kept on burning my leg.

So after our starter, again the waiter went through the whole range of wine suggestions were the bottles were no less that £25. I just wanted a glass but felt so uncomfortable asking for one. For the mains we had steak and lamb. They were OK, nothing special though. There was definitively nothing Italian about it. Both lamb and the steak had a lot of fatty bits that were not edible. So after two glasses of wine, a bottle of water, a starter, and two mains our bill came to almost £50 with the discount. Oh, and we were charged over £6 for the service! "

The food was sensationally good - perfectly cooked fresh seafood, rich mozzarella, amazing pasta, we could not have asked for more. The service was truly excellent as well; We'll definitely be back and would recommend to anyone wanting a romantic / intimate / fun meal out in Richmond. Great location as well, you can walk it off on the Common afterwards! Elliot "

  • "We dined here on Thursday night and decided to enjoy 3 courses each. For starters we had Carpaccio and calamari which were both pleasantly presented. The calamari was beautifully cooked and featured a mixture of pieces from the whole squid which was a nice change from just being given tubes. The zesty and slight hint of chilli flavours in the accompanying sauce and salad complemented this very well. The Carpaccio came in the form of small circles covering the dinner plate along with some tasty artichokes and was lovely. The mains were also excellent. Rack of lamb cooked perfectly and the aubergine Parmigiana was also lovely and rich. The sea bass again was of the highest standard. Desserts were fabulous - being Tiramisu which was delightfully creamy and the Pannacotta was lovely and thick - a real treat to end a delicious meal. Service was unhurried - the chap sat across from us was in a bit of a rush so the staff made sure he was served quickly and that’s probably the key for anyone who starts to worry about slow service. Just ask - it usually works! The wine list was also great. I had a lovely large glass of Sangiovese and even the Rose was complex in taste. One thing did strike me though. Although the bottles of wine were fairly typically priced. Some of them worked out far cheaper to buy by the glass (large) so watch out for this all you wine lovers! All in all a delightful meal in a quaint and romantic environment. Simon & Nageswari "

  • "I went here a few weeks ago after seeing the lovely reviews on the taste website. We didn't book and they had an extra space so let us in warmly and were very friendly and helpful. The waitress was really accommodating when we were seated and recommended different food and drinks to us. The food was absolutely fantastic! Plenty of choice and beautiful flavours, I was so full though that I couldn't finish and it rather saddened me to see my plate with leftover pasta on it. However, we waited for a very very long time to get served and between courses as well. Although it was nice for my friends and I to have a good chat it wasn't appealing to be left starving for so long. We then noticed that there were only two waitresses for the whole night so I expect it was just lack of staff than poor service as when we did eventually get some human contact it was excellent! In fact the couple behind who arrived after us actually left after their initial drinks because they were so fed up of waiting! Oh well! More food for us! I would recommend this restaurant purely for the food and the lovely staff but if you are in a rush you won't be pleased. I suggest Amadora invest in more staff because it is a shame it loses its quality from this. Kim "

This restaurant has only been open since October last year, and was my first time visiting but I will certainly be back. The service is outstanding, and the food is far better than the Italian food I had in Italy! It is seasonal produce, fresh, delicious and fantastic portion sizes. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Jodie & Dele   "

  • "I have been for dinner on Wednesday evening with my boyfriend. I had a really nice evening. Food was great. Portions are almost twice the size that you would expect. Menu is great was hard to make choice because many dishes sounded great. I had very nice duck with blood orange sauce, very nice and delicious dish with very light feeling to it.  My boyfriend had Strawberry risotto. That was great! And for dessert - Oh homemade ice cream was great! I would definitely go back there. Prices are not too high, service was excellent! The wine that we chose was out of stock waiter kindly replaced it with different one and that was great tasting wine. Would definitely recommend it! Jurate     "

An inventive chef is at work, serving everyone’s favourites alongside seasonal specialities and new creations. Daily changing ravioli (from 2pm so we missed out!) and risotto. They also serve excellent wine. Go and try it! Hilary   "

  • "Would definitely recommend! We went to Amadora on Friday night for our anniversary and it was such a lovely relaxed and romantic experience. The staff are absolutely brilliant - they made small talk with us when we first came in, but gave us plenty of privacy through our meal. They were great at recommending food and drink that would sit well together rather than just the most expensive thing on the menu. The food was lovely - portion sizes extremely generous, ingredients SO fresh, and I think the prices are very reasonable - especially with the taste discount. Jo   "

  • "Amadora is a lovely little restaurant hidden down a small side street in Richmond. The service was very friendly and efficient. Now to the best bit – the food!  The starters were beautiful.  We had the aubergine in a crepe and tomato sauce (sounds bizarre - tastes amazing) and the artichoke flan, which was light and fluffy - the perfect starter. For the main we had sea bass which tasted so fresh and the veal escalope in masala wine sauce which was rich and full of flavour.  I will definitely be returning, but I think I will also order a portion of vegetables to go with my meal as although there was a side salad and potatoes with each meal, my personal preference is to also have more vegetables. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Nicola "

Was very glad I booked a table as noticed all others who came in after us had too. It is small downstairs and upstairs but such a change to the chains that we all tend to stick to. They were very understanding with my requirement of no cows milk. Even do a Gluten free menu for those that need. Complimentary Limencello at the end! We will definitely be coming back especially with the tastecard discount! A Madath   "

  • "Had dinner here on Saturday night and had starters inside and the rest of the meal outside as it was so hot.

Kim "

  • "Amadora is a lovely restaurant. It is by far the best Italian food I have ever had and you always get service with a smile. I’m looking forward to my next visit. P.S. They serve the BEST calamari. Sukhjit "

  • "We called up 15 minutes before arriving and made a reservation for 9.30pm on Saturday night.

Jurate     "

  • "A hidden gem. Had lunch there today. Lovely and relaxing ambiance, fantastic service and superb food.

Nicola "

  • "Went here on Friday night and was very happy with food and service. You felt you were in Italy. Italian music and all Italian staff. A Madath   "
