The Blue River Café has a wide-ranging, freshly-prepared menu to suit most tastes and food is available all day, from breakfast through to late evening. The daily and à la carte menus are predominantly ‘English Modern’ cuisine and whenever possible based around seasonal ingredients.
Please note: the tastecard discount is not available on the Breakfast Menu. Bank Holidays are exempt from the offer. The tastecard cannot be used from the 14th-16th of February as only a special TDH menu will be served at this time. There will be no a la carte menu during this period.

Overall a nice dining experience. Blue River Cafe is a place I have wanted to try for a long time but never got around to it. We went on a Sunday evening expecting it to be quiet but it was packed as they had a Karaoke night in the bar. We were given what I would rate as one of the best tables in the restaurant overlooking the river. The service was a bit slow and the staff were welcoming. The food was very nice but we had a problem with one dish which we asked to be cooked a little more as it was too rare and within 15mins they made a new dish completely and as the rest of us had finished our main courses by the time they came back the problem meal was removed from the bill courtesy of the manager. The restaurant manager was very attentive and excellent service was received from him. Overall a good experience and yes we will return.

As a local, Blue River was OK to drop into for a drink but bar service is always slow. Gave the restaurant a few tries and thought my tastecard would soften the slow service. To be honest, should have had 2 free meals!! Shockingly bad service, cold micro waved meal, when I asked for it to be reheated it would have melted granite!! Sincerely, I would recommend other places close by who will take your tastecard, (Dorney), or pay the full price at a non participating restaurant a stone’s throw away on the river by the lock and pay about the same discounted price for a far better meal! I won’t return and sadly, as a local, and regularly asked where I might recommend, I really wouldn't recommend Blue River. They just fail to deliver. Lobbying the other lock restaurant now to join taste!!!

"I went to the Blue River Cafe for lunch on a Tuesday. The service was very good and the food as also very good indeed. With 50% off the food, this is a great place to eat and a bargain. If the weather was better it would be wonderful to eat by the river.

"I went to the Blue River Cafe last Sunday for my mother's 70th birthday party. We could not have been more pleased. The service and the food were excellent. The manager of the restaurant and his staff, could not be more accommodating. Another excellent meal and occasion at the Blue River Cafe.
