2 for 1 at Ropewalks Food and Drinks Lounge at the Novotel Liverpool Centre Hotel

A stylish hotel ideally located within the Liverpool city centre, the Novotel Liverpool Centre hotel provides the perfect escape for visitors and locals to the city – be it for a weekend stay or a couple of hours at their fantastic on-site restaurant.

In the Ropewalks Food and Drink Lounge, the Novotel Liverpool Centre Hotel has a vibrant eatery that is awash with bright oranges, soothing greys and bubbly pinks. This is wonderfully matched by a fabulous team of service staff that do their utmost to ensure that every customer enjoys the dining experience, from the first bite until the last.

To be enjoyed as exquisite snacks, as part of a tapas style meal or as starters in a more indulgent feast are the table bites, where the chicken wings are available in four very different sauces, the nachos are served with a glorious pulled pork or in a vegetarian style, and where the delicious mac ‘n’ cheese is there for anybody that desires it.

With the superb discounts offered to tastecard members it seems almost criminal not to fully indulge, which is something that is sure to become even more apparent when perusing their range of house favourites. Particularly enticing options come in the form of the Ropewalks beef burger, which comes adorned with bacon, cheddar and salad, the heavenly baby back barbecue ribs, and the tropical Hawaiian pizza.

The venue is sat just a stone’s throw away from the River Mersey as well as a number of the other attractions of the city, such as Albert Dock, The Beatles Story and the Echo Arena. This makes the Ropewalks Food and Drink Lounge at the Novotel Liverpool Centre Hotel the ideal location to enjoy a bit of respite and a sumptuous meal amidst a day of exploration.

Dressed up thought we were coming to a nice resturant for our evening meal. The hotel have utilised the space they serve guests breakfast in as a resturant. The atmosphere was awful. Choice of metal chairs or plastic booths. The wine is over priced. Even using the taste card the bill for 2 of us came £55.....expensive for the experience we had. Music was playing in the restaurant and in the bar that conflicted. Children were playing in the lobby just the other side of a glass screen. Steak was cooked well but was the only good bit of the mixed grill I had chicken Tikka kebab which was nice but the accomplices left a lot to be desired. The mixed started was OK but the deep fried fritters and calamari were really greasy. We will Not be coming again. :-(:-( "

We booked Elements on the basis of the Tastecard reviews. What a disappointment. The chicken Thai curry was chicken pieces floating in a thin gruel; certainly could not be described as a curry sauce in any sense. The fish cake starter, whilst nicely presented, were hard-shelled, not crisp but disintegrated in to pieces under the knife. The waitress said she would report the comments to the chef. Even at Tastecard price, the meal was overpriced. The restaurant was empty. We were the only clients. The waiting staff were pleasant and I didn't want to give them a hard time about the poor quality of my meal. "

Arrived for an evening meal after matinee at Empire, so restaurant was quiet, head waiter Daniel showed us to the table we ordered the soup of the day which was excellent, the little added touch was the wonderful fruit bread whilst waiting for the soup. This was topped up when we had finished the first tranch. Wife had the pork which was plentiful and extremely tasty, would go for this on another visit. I had the Spanish Chicken again excellent and filling. Only downside and a lot of restaurants do the Ryanair trick of wanting to charge for added extras, this time the pork only came with cabbage and no potatoes so we had to order a side order.
Would recommend the meals and the service by Daniel was excellent, in business terms he would be head hunted for bigger and better things. "
