Customers who visit the restaurant are tempted by an unrivalled range of authentic and imaginative traditional Indian foods.

The chefs’ approach to healthy cooking is to try to minimize additives in their dishes and the menu has been prepared by Mr Shelim, who intends to make sure that everything is cooked to the best of chefs’ capabilities.

Of course it can have its off days as any restaurant can, and but we have found the food outstanding and the manager a fabulous host. The restaurant can feel a bit low on atmosphere in the early parts of the evening but things improve as the evening progress especially. maybe a redesign of the layout would help. The menu has some fabulous special dishes, and which I would highly recommend if you're not familiar with them. "

The waiters were courteous and attentive, happy to discuss - and advise - our selection of starters and main courses. Our Shammi Kebab and Prawn Puree were excellent and the Aloo Chop very nice, though not quite what we were expecting it to be. The main courses were even more satisfactory. The Tandoori Chicken with a side dish of Saag Bahji was lovely, tender and moist; the Prawn Patia was rich, flavorsome and packed with prawns, but both of these were topped by the lamb with a subtle lemony sauce. The pulau rice was perfect and the naan as light as could be. With a bottle of excellent Shiraz, the whole meal came to around £17 a head. A simply delicious bargain - to be repeated as soon and as often as we can. "

    When providing feedback to the owner of the company I was told to 'go away and do a bad review of us'.

    Any owner who feels that this is acceptable is clearly terrible at his job.

  • "I recently organised an evening for 10 diners at the Raj Pavillion, I was unable to arrive on time, so finally took my seat as the main courses were being served - 10 minutes later I had possibly the most outstanding Goan Green Curry ever, and to top it all Jewell and his most welcoming staff produced all sundries and the meal for me at no cost (I did look flustered when I arrived). For me there is no better Indian restaurant in the area (and there are some good ones), I will be back again and again!!! Nicholas "
