This restaurant should be removed from the tastecard list to save their reputation and image.

The place is was really nice and the service was prompt (only because they wanted to get rid of us).

Drinks; 2 cans of Sprite for £6.50

Sheek kebab - probably purchased from the sainsbury's basic range and was defiantly microwaved.

Chicken Tika - tasted like rubber bands with a touch of salt.

The chicken and lamb madras - (£10.70 each). Bland, tasteless and not even worth the stomach aches me and my girlfriend got afterward.

In other words - DO NOT GO THERE... EVER
You'd have a better, more satisfying meal from a run down, greasy donner kebab shop. "

Starters could have been from mcdonalds. Korma possibly worse than a microwave meal. Tikka prawns were pretty good but the naan was doughy and undercooked. Service was good. Even with the tasecard discount it was not good value for money. Leave it to the unknowing tourists that seem to fill the place up. "

The Light of India is an excellent example of Indian Cuisine. My girlfriend is half Sri-Lankan and agrees with me totally that this food is among the best Indian food in London.

For point of reference, the price of a meal here is typically £11.50 for a main course, and around £4 for rice or naan. The tastecard makes this roughly £15 per person and it is the perfect choice for a slightly classier meal out.

I have been here more than ten times now, and though my student loan is dwindling, my stomach is very full. I shall be returning again, and highly recommend this restaurant. "

" This is a conveniently located restaurant. I visited today the third time. I like the service. Was a bit disappointing that they did not have Indian Chai. But I guess they items on the menu are what is demanded by the majority of customers. They had Indian ice-cream on the menu, which was very nice and as always delicately presented in plates. The place is a bit pricy, but with the tastecard is OK. The service is good. So, shall come back and shall recommend to others. "

" We called the restaurant Saturday night, as it was advertised that tastecard is OK on Sat. Our reservation was accepted. However, when we arrived the staff said that they do not accept the tastecard, and to our objection, he asked us to sit and wait in the lobby of the hotel. We waited until called. The food was fresh and tasted deliciously. The service was generally polite but I could feel they were rushing us a bit. The atmosphere was pleasant and the only downside is that we could smell what had been cocked in the kitchen, especially tandoori dishes, which was not really so pleasant.
The surprise came when they brought the bill, which was quite more than what we ordered. So, we ended up paying almost the same as we would have paid without the tastecard. I was with a man who did not object and immediately paid the bill in full. So, we never questioned why the bill came so high. The waiter insisted that the tip is not included and I added a small tip on top of what my friend paid. My companion then noted that a separate service charge was included. So, even though the food and atmosphere were nice, I felt that we were not treated fairly and were charged excessively. I was asked to print and also sign my name and card number on their copy of the bill. Will I go back there? Probably not, only if I would like good Indian food and do not mind paying fools prices. "
