We went to Khans on a whim, after discovering that Jimmy Spices was closed. From the off, service was polite but chaotic. It took a few minutes of umming and ahhing before they found us a table.
As this is a tastecard review, I just want to get this bit out of the way. This seems to happen a lot. I asked on arrival, "Do you take tastecard?", and was told that they did. I have the mobile app, where it quite clearly states "Two for one meals across all courses ordered". But we were informed that we could have one main dish free, that was it. I explained that this was not the offer, and that this was clearly explained on the website. They were having none of it. One free main dish, that's it.
In Khans favour, the tastecard website also states that you should call in advance. We did not, so it was nice of them to agree to take tastecard in the first place. Well done for that.
The food was not bad. But unfortunately, they also managed to mess up our order. My starter never arrived. The waiter had included it on his notepad as a main dish. This would have meant that we had ordered an additional two main dishes, not very likely. They didn't bother checking. Consequently I had to ask them to change the bill to reflect this, because they were not going to.
It was all rather tiresome. Whilst the restaurant is pleasant enough, and the food is passable, using the tastecard is frustrating, as they do not provide the discount which is clearly publicised, and they make no apologies for this.
