Kirkstall Abbey is one of the most complete examples of a medieval Cistercian abbey in Britain.
Set in wonderful parkland along the banks of the River Aire, Kirkstall Abbey boasts historic architecture amid a haven of wildlife and greenery.
The Gatehouse, next to The Abbey House Museum, serves wholesome, delicious, fresh dishes with a strong influence from Yorkshire. Various meals are available; from light sandwiches to hearty mains. A choice of drinks is presented to accompany each meal, including cool refreshers and tasty hot coffees. The Gatehouse is also popular for homemade cakes.
As well as within the venue’s smart and inviting interior, seating is available in the outdoor area, allowing visitors to enjoy the food and drink whilst looking out onto one of Britain's best preserved and most romantic Abbeys.
Please note: The Gatehouse is closed on Mondays. The Gatehouse serve a Sunday Roast menu on Sunday’s therefore the tastecard cannot be used on this day.
