The restaurant is well located at Port Solent. Just inside the door was a chair storage area making the entrance look more like a storeroom. The greeting was friendly and there was a buzz as the restaurant was noticeably busier than others.

We had allowed 1 hour 20 as we had tickets for the cinema and we advised of our deadline. Poppadoms arrived quickly but the starters took ages. We reminded staff of our deadline. Starters, monkfish tikka and chicken tikka were both dry and a little bland.

A second drink was ordered but didn't turn up and we had to chase the main. After 1 hour ten minutes, the main arrived, without rice or naan. The table next door then received the whole of their meal. When the rice and naan arrived we asked them to put it all in a doggy bag for us to collect after the film - we were offered a free drink, with obviously no time to drink it!! All were apologetic.

We returned later and the, now, takeaway was found. When we opened it up at home it only contained one of the meals. The one remning main course was very nice.

The price was £58 reduced to £44 with the tastecard which took extra time to process as the person dealing with the bill did not know what to do.

All in all completely hopeless and very poor value for money. "

1st time at this restaurant, decided to go with the whole family for a night out. There was not enough staff working, waited over an hour between courses. Alcoholic beverages are over prices. Service and food was average. We won't be returning any time soon. "

I love Indian cuisine so I have tried a lot of places in Portsmouth. I went on a Wednesday; this was the best freshly cooked food that I have tried for a long time. Staff are nice and friendly, and very attentive.
We had a mix (lamb and chicken) biryani (which wasn't on the menu but were happy to accommodate so an extra point there!) and my friend had chicken korma and mushroom rice. I was so pleased to see the biryani spices so well blended-in and in its sauce. I was also pleased to see mushroom rice for the first time with not having a deep yellow colour and full of grease!
For starters we had some poppadoms, the onion bhajis and chicken haryali kebab. The chutney set with the poppadoms were very nice. I was very impressed with the onion bhajis since they were the best I tried, freshly cooked, crispy and with some vegetable in it so it had a nice combination. The chicken haryali was very tasty.
I definitely recommend this restaurant. We will be going again. "

Everything about this place is the best, apart from the price (although I am a firm believer you get what you pay for!). So to find it on tastecard was a real Brucie bonus! Highly recommend trying this restaurant; you won't be disappointed! This review is coming from an avid curry connoisseur! "

Several incidents that occurred, needing to ask for drinks twice, food being served to one of us whilst the other waits a further five minutes, asking for a new napkin that I am still technically waiting for, waiter not knowing the price of a bottle of cobra, and not going to find out for us (it's £5.95 if you wanted to know) and nearly dropping a glass on my husband’s lap and not apologising for it!!!!
