I am a big Taste card fan.
Last year saved my family and friends over £1200 pounds on meals we would have had anyway, and discovered many interesting new restaurants along the way. I have had over 20 friends and colleagues sign up so they could save too.
Thank you taste card, my next holiday is on you!

My favourite Taste resturant? The Caribbean Scene in Stratford. Not only is the food very tasty with a great selection of dishes, but the really welcomed us as Tastecard holders and even gave us more off the bill than the card said we were entitled *to. We saved around £25
* This was not a mistake, they chose to do it :-)

Few weeks ago, I decided to take a friend to Cape Town Fish Market in London, using my TasteCard. I rarely eat seafood and until recently wasn’t too keen on it but I thought given the discount, it was worth the trial.
I absolutely fell in love with the restaurant. The atmosphere, the waiting staff but most of all, the food!!!! It was just amazing! Classic and special dishes, everything was great and with the £30 I saved on the bill, I decided to go back as soon as I will be back from holidays!!! I can’t wait!!!!

Those we have been to, in reverse order of enjoyment:

10. Pietra, Waterloo, Liverpool L22.
Good steaks but lacking in atmosphere. Supplements on meals for use of the card probably also affected our judgement.
9. Spicy Haandi, Wembley.
Good curry, informal dining, very pleasant staff.
8. The Horshoe Inn, Oakham.
Good steaks again, quite nice staff.
7. Chinese Delight, Waterloo, Liverpool L22.
Pleasant traditional restaurant, excellent starters, quick service – would have liked to have been able to order more using the card!
6. Cafe Sports England, Liverpool L1
As a firm supporter of a Liverpool based football team that plays in red, I was already warming towards Jamie Carragher’s bistro style venue before I entered. With our family guests, we weren’t let down – very good and friendly service and very good food was had by all. Great location.
5. Bar Under the Stars, Bristol.
With a novel location on a barge, tapas like this is memorable. Quaintly amateur but charming, we’d go again. Great for a party.
2= Da Capo, Liverpool L3.
A little off the beaten track for the city centre, this is a warm and cosy restaurant that serves fantastic Greek and Italian food. Subtle and friendly service, this was a perfect location for a family get-together.
2= Tapas Tapas, Waterloo, Liverpool L22.
Literally everything is orderable with the card and we kind of ordered everything, even a full plate of paella after all the tapas. The Spanish beverages are a lovely accompaniment.
2= Christakis, Liverpool L1.
Excellent food and service, the Halloumi and Lountza starter is fabulous!
1. Guanabara, London, WC2A
Fabulous night out with friends, good food, half price cocktails before 7pm, then a dance show, a band and a Brazilian style disco – heaven!

And that concludes our tastecard review! :)

Thai Silk near Waterloo. A large group of us stumbled upon it through the tastecard app after getting soaked watching the Jubilee River Pageant. Its a great place tucked away down a leafy pedestrian street so make sure you know the address or you might miss it! The food was excellent and as a party of 12 with the tastecard we saved a fortune! The card was meant to give us 50% off for 8 people but I’m pretty sure they just gave us 50% off the whole bill. Mind you we did order a lot of booze…
