Found in the Nunhead area of southern London is the charming pub, the Golden Anchor.
Offering guests an alluring spread of Caribbean cuisine in lieu of British dishes normally found in pubs, the Golden Anchor’s chefs, Marcia and Milly, work hard to ensure every guest leaves with their palate pleased.
Members calling in advance with a tastecard can enjoy all the tantalising tastes at a terrific price, providing the perfect excuse to indulge on more than just a mere single course. With these savings in mind, why not begin the meal with one of the heart-warming soups, such as the rich chicken soup or the enriching red pea soup, or one of the flaky patties, filled with either beef, saltfish or vegetables.
The main courses offer some truly tasty dishes, like the delectable jerk pork meal, partnered with rice and peas, the delightful savoury steam vegetables, enriched with thyme, and the scrumptious brown chicken stew.
There’s also a few desserts for any diner still looking for more, and these sweet treats are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth, with delicious delights such as the heavenly vanilla cheesecake and the classic apple pie.
With a menu that changes daily there’s always new surprises for regular diners, and with regular events like jazz nights and the latest football matches on there’s plenty to entertain guests of the Golden Anchor.
Based upon feedback from our members we have decided to implement a review facility on the tastecard website. This is a great opportunity for you to share your experiences, both good and bad, with other members. Please familiarise yourselves with the below rules for placing reviews:

Based upon feedback from our members we have decided to implement a review facility on the tastecard website. This is a great opportunity for members to share their experiences, both good and bad, with other members. We believe that this is also a fantastic opportunity for our restaurants to assess feedback, and if necessary make improvements and take feedback on-board. Previously, if members wished to review a restaurant they were likely to visit another website to do so. This may have meant that the reviews were less accessible to yourselves, as restaurateurs, and thus you would have been less likely to act upon the review, be it good or bad. By offering the review service on our site we believe that restaurants will benefit from having feedback from our members in one place.
If you object to a review on our site, we will remove it. However, our research has indicated that members are far more likely to visit a restaurant if there are a number of balanced reviews than if all reviews are positive. Please bear this in mind when reading the reviews; if a restaurant only has great reviews then our members are far less likely to trust the reviews and thus are likely to dine elsewhere.
For clarification on any of the above please email restaurantteam@tastecard.co.uk
