The Brazier family started its pub career in 1961 at the Turks Head in St. Margarets, Twickenham. Under the inspired leadership of Fred & Edna, the ‘Turks’ gained a great reputation for fine food and great wines. Being very near to Twickenham Film Studios and the world famous rugby ground helped the pub to win a reputation, with many top stars using it as their watering hole.
They became tenants at the Turks Head in 1980 and left in 1999 when the Fullers Board decided that a manager would serve them better. From 2000 to 2006, they were lessees of the Europa Public House in East Molesey, Surrey.
Since arriving at the Tanners, They’ve kept the high standards that their customers expect and rightly deserve, and worked hard to deliver a mix of real ales and great food.
Alongside their real ales, they aim to keep you well fed with their wide range of home cooked food. In addition to our standard menu our chef is constantly updating the specials board.
The Jolly Tanners are very proud of their innovative ‘Sizzling’ Dishes. You can have a choice of Chicken Breast, King Prawns, Duck, Vegetarian or Steak Sizzler. All served with peppers and onions, chips or sauteed potatoes, with cheddar cheese going with the chicken and stilton served with the steak sizzler.
The Jolly Tanners has created an atmosphere that allows people to relax and dogs are welcome guests. If you’re a dog lover like them, you’ll no doubt be introduced to their own, Sandor and Akira, who, at times, can be found wandering amongst the regulars.
