The small town of Biggleswade in Bedfordshire is the location for the award winning Viceroy Indian restaurant. Viceroy has been serving its first class authentic Indian cuisine to the town since 1980 and its longevity is a true testament to the quality of the food and service. Following a recent refurbishment, the restaurant received a nomination at the very prestigious British curry awards, the largest and most important competition in Indian cuisine in the UK, demonstrating that Viceroy is a fantastic representative of true Indian cuisine and those years of hard work and service has finally paid off.
The menu offers a fine combination of classic Indian dishes that everyone knows and loves along with some rather mouth-watering chef’s recommendations. The chicken mango delight is a dish well worth sampling, especially amongst diners who like their Indian food on the mild side. Another highlight has to be the tangy masala lamb narangi, where tender chunks of lamb are cooked in an orange masala sauce made with various ground spices. The prawn malai curry with coconut and cashew nuts is filled with flavour as is the Bombay fish masala with soya sauce and mustard and both are perfect accompanied by fresh naan bread or pilau rice.
A modern Indian dining room, Viceroy is well worthy if its awards and nominations. The restaurant already boasts a long list of regular customers, built up over the years and is now attracting a whole new customer base thanks to its very prestigious nod from the British Curry Awards.
