Lucy’s was created in 1989 in the heart of the English Lake District and has the same ethos at heart – the love of food and people. Lucy’s on a plate embraces an eclectic, laid back style that has something to offer everyone. With its quirky touches and ever changing evening menu, they welcome all ages and accommodate most tastes – it’s an enjoyable bustly café by day converting to a candlit restaurant at night. Gluten free dishes are clearly marked on the menu and they offer an enviable selection of cakes and desserts.
The extensive daytime menu and specials are offered from midday onwards, prior to that you can ‘Breakfast at Lucy’s’ together with a great selection of morning coffee and cakes. You’ll discover a truly tempting world of inspired food, whether it’s just a snack or something more inspired. Experience one of the all-inclusive afternoon teas for a bit of everything. From 6pm until 9pm they serve an evening menu that has a strong emphasis on dishes that are ‘sourced locally and cooked globally’ – a sample of the evening menu is available on request. Lucy’s is a very personal experience that offers a fun, relaxing and unique time – turning an occasion into a celebration.
The majority of the food served at Lucy’s is made on the premises and they can therefore be as obliging as possible to accommodate individual requests. They avoid the use of any genetically modified products and wherever possible will buy from a well-known local source and producer. Their meats come from reputable butchers and local farmers.
