Chinese Cricket Club Restaurant is located opposite Blackfriars station in the Grade II-listed Crowne Plaza London – The City hotel. Built on the foundations of King Henry VIII's Bridewell palace, the establishment was formerly a prison and a bank before finally finding its feet as an AA Rosette award winning Chinese restaurant.
The restaurant's talented chefs cook up authentic Sichuan cuisine with a focus on the numbing heat characteristic of the Sichuan pepper, and classic Cantonese style Dim Sum. Chinese Cricket Club also hold monthly Dim Sum master classes, and Lion Dance performances on popular Chinese calendar dates.
The venue is named in honour of the Chinese National Cricket team, who in 2009 played their first international match. It also commemorates the recent translation of the laws of cricket into Mandarin by the Asian Cricket Council.
