Gus:"Underused Restaurant. Hidden Treasure The only reason I found this place was because it is one of the few Tastecard establishments in North Ayrshire. Glad I did. There is a requirement to call ahead and declare you're using Tastecard which always makes me suspicious. Spoke to David, the duty manager of the hotel who said that they prefer 24 hours notice, but he was happy for us to come along. On arrival he made us most welcome and offered to serve us in the bar or the restaurant whatever we preferred. We opted for the restaurant which was tastefully decorated for Xmas, although the lack of clientele made the place feel a bit deserted, but the remote location is a contributory factor in that.
The food was delicious and in abundance. Well cooked and presented, defying the myth that all Tastecard restaurants scale down the meal for Tastecard holders. The mushroom starter was mouthwatering and the Lasagne and Risotto were both high standard. Service was outstanding throughout and exceptionally friendly.
I've passed this place many times and due to its remote location have never tried it.
My loss, but I intend to make up for lost time. Thanks for the introduction Tastecard."
