Arrived about 2.30pm on a spur of the moment visit - yes quite late but it was disappointing to find lots of things had ran out. It wasn’t busy at all by the time we arrived - lots of free tables. Despite this, when I mentioned to the lady that I had a taste card, she stated, in a rather grumpy and irritated fashion, that we had to phone and pre book when using the card. I immediately looked round at the empty tables and thought, well it’s not as if they have lots of full paying customers at this time and all tables are full is it?! So I asked, ‘So does that mean we can’t use our card then?’ Only saving grace of the visit was that then, quite reluctantly it seemed and definitely not with a smile, said that seen as though it had been a busy day already, she would let us use the card. I was left disappointed with this frosty reception to be honest! To make matters worse, when our dinners came, a simple panini for myself and a basic omelette for my husband, we both had the tiniest amount of iceberg lettuce on the plate plus the tiniest amount of salad dressing you have ever seen drizzled on top- just a few measly scraps of onion lost somewhere between the leaves. No tomatoes, peppers or cucumber :( The panini filling was disappointing too - I normally go for goats cheese when on the menu as I love it and it usually comes with a very tasty chutney or caremalised onion! But no... goats cheese with tomato was neither appealing or tasty - very bland! Won’t be back! Frosty reception and mediocre food!
