"Just came back, so thought I'd write this before I forget. After searching and ringing a few places finally decided on this restaurant, as a) they offer the taste discount during Ramadan, b) they had a high-chair available for the baby and c) although they didn't have a special iftar menu, they said they could put a iftar meal together for us. So I booked for 2 adults (me and my mum) plus my nephew who's staying round tonight to break our fast since Ramadan nearly over and we haven't gone out to eat once this time. We got there at 7pm, there were about three groups already so not too busy or too quiet. The venue isn't too big, but can accommodate, say a group of 4 easily, any bigger, would recommend reserving a place. Anyhow, they had our reservation on a card and seated us behind the wall, which I preferred over the window seat. We've only just seated and they've served our meal, plus orange juice (which had a sweet taste that suited me fine). The meal consist of a bowl of rice pudding (Kishori - bengali rice pudding is my best definition), and a plate with a date, chickpea and potato dish, plain puri, 2 slices of apples and 2 grapes. The portions weren't that big, but that was fine, after fasting for the day starting with a light meal is usually better. The baby was in a high-chair perfectly content. We had bought our own food for the baby, and was happy getting attention from anyone caught his eye. We had a 1ltr bottle of still water, and then ordered fish bhajee curry and white rice for mum, and mixed vegetable curry and white rice for myself. It did state on the menu, the fish may take time to cook, but it arrived before we even finished our starters. We did have to go up for some extra green chilli and lemon, but otherwise the service was very good, and attentive. I think the baby particularly liked one of the waiter who played with the baby whenever he was near our table. We couldn't finish off the fish curry so they packed it for us. The food was good, enough spice to suit my taste buds, though mum wasn't too keen on the peppers in the fish, felt that was unusual and unnecessary (sometimes mum's more of a fussy eater than I am). Perhaps we should have asked exactly what vegetables would be included in the dishes. The only thing I would mention was the table was a bit small. Perhaps it's ok for two people, but not so good if you're planning to order more than 2 dishes each. As we progressed the meal, the restaurant did get busier, which is a good sign I suppose. The bill came to £20 which included 50% taste discount (£16 off!) and £3 on the drinks/water. And they even called us a cab because my battery died at that moment (story of my life!) I would be happy to visit them again.
