Situated in Forest Hill Road, East Dulwich is The Herne Tavern, a rustic London Pub. Ideal place for all occasions, The Herne Tavern is a classic Victorian pub that's complete with modern comforts.
Now accepting the tasecard, members can visit even without calling in advance, leaving little reason not to give The Herne Tavern a try.
Using only the fineest locally sourced ingredients, the chef and his team have created a delicious menu filled with British dishes. Begin the experience, or simply partner a few drinks, with one of the superb starters, such as the refreshing Heritage beetroot & goats cheese salad, tossed with an orange vinaigrette, and the tantalising buttermilk chicken lollipops, paired with cabbage coleslaw & a cayenne pepper sauce.
Equally as exemplary are the main courses, which feature all manners of delights that one may not expect to find in a pub setting. Particularly merit worthy meals include the sumptuous cider braised rabbit tagliatelle, adorned with sage & olives, and the heavenly gnocchi, complete with spiced roasted pumpkins & a pumpkin puree.
Clad with a 1930s interior yet featuring contemporary dishes and a gigantic garden area, the largest in South London no less, The Herne Tavern works wonders for casual occasions with friends and family.
Please Note: tastecard discount not available on Sundays due to no A la Carte menu being served.
