Since opening in 2004, Flute has become one of the best Indian restaurants in Halesowen. Although the menu serves a range of traditional Indian, Bangladeshi, Punjabi and Thai dishes, the décor is in no way old fashioned. With modern, contemporary colours, and clean, simple furniture the owners have managed to create an eatery that is a haven from the busy outside world. The aim is to take you on a culinary journey through Asia, making sure that all time-honoured classics are not forgotten. Although many old favourites are served, the talented kitchen team like to keep things fresh by introducing new dishes to the menu.
The head chef has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant trade, and he has invented many of the dishes on the menu. Starters include Aknee pepper, which is lamb or chicken cooked biryani style and stuffed inside a chargrilled pepper, and then topped with Khata sauce. Fish lovers will enjoy the king prawn sukkah, steamed king prawns cooked with garlic butter and sweet tamarind sauce. Also available are fried scallops, gently fried with spring onions, tomatoes and peppers. Chef recommendations include the ‘Caribbean White Korma’, chicken or lamb tikka cooked with white chocolate in a rich, creamy sauce. He also recommends 'Navarang', tandoori duck breast cooked in a medium sauce with bamboo shoots and nagah chillies.
For a truly impressive dining experience, a visit to Flute Restaurant on Stourbridge Road is for you.
