  • " A visit with 3 adults and 1. We didn't venture outside so can't comment on the play area but the setting of this pub is lovely. A fab old inn with very friendly service, good food and extremely good value for money. Would definitely go again . Beware portions are really large - but you will want to eat it all . "

The 1 star review & comments below shocked me! If you want fine dining with no children around Windsor, go to Oakley Court and pay more than ten times the price and enjoy the stiff atmosphere!

I've enjoyed a lovely steak here before and a generous, delicious main of mussels with friendly staff & a lovely selection of wine.

It's a local pub, but it does attract outsiders due to the play area for the children, which is one of the best I've seen. I'm pretty sure all play areas are for children to use under their parents' supervision so it's unfair to blame the pub for older children mixing with younger?!

Parking is easy and you can almost always get a table outside, and I will definitely go there again. "

" There is no appropriate age segregation of the children's play areas. Young children in danger of being injured by the more boisterous older kids. The football area is far too close to the outside dining tables and drinks & food gets knocked off the tables. The service is poor with low quality badly prepared food. Families do not get their meals delivered together. Waiters are incompetent spilling gravy etc. over the customers. This is the worst pub in Windsor and probably the worst in Berks. "
