The pub, now under new management is run by Abhinav who aims to continue its 2 centuries' long legacy and promises to be there in a new avatar! Abhinav, with his experience of around 15 years in food, beverage and hospitality, assures that The Royal Oak would be a local abode for many.
At The Royal Oak, they offer locally sourced, home cooked food which is cooked to perfection. This ranges from starters of peri peri chicken wings and venison scotch eggs with a mustard dressing to mains of battered cod and chips with a choice of mushy and tartar sauce or chicken tikka masala with pilau rice, mini naan bread, pappadoms and pickle. ANDREW:"Indian fusion burgers Normal pub menu with sharers, classic mains & sandwiches etc.
Separate burger menu with each dish taking inspiration from a different region of India.
Had the United States of Punjab chicken burger - marinated, shredded chicken formed into a patty, Calutta fries (lemon & pepper, no need for salt & vinegar) & a side of 3 chicken wings - all very, very good...... nice tingle in the mouth when I finished without and burning or sweating.
Will definitely be visiting again when I'm back in London!! (Northern prices in central London)"

Amran:"A nice little joint..... Called ahead, easy use of card, small but adequate pub in Westminster. Ordered the soup , which was slightly bland, however everything else was good ( fish and chips). Pie was slightly hard, and nachos were not available and only 1 fish and chips! However very good value for money, will be back again."

Antonio: " Phoned it! Reserved it! Reached it!
We recommend this place / We will be back again, next time with friends.
Because:
Great welcome and after meal service, from two young smiling ladies in charge on the floor. I noticed they look after all customers and furthermore both came to our table and ask if everything was all right: really appreciate!
The 10oz Rump Steaks were cooked to our specification, the meat with the vegetables were really tasty. Few choices on the dessert menu, we tried the Bread & Butter Pudding which was accompanied with ice cream.
About the slate flat plate used to serve the steak (better suitable for cold food, in my opinion): drops of the meat juice drip on the table. In my opinion the best option is to use for succulent main like this, a simple regular plate (why not, made from the same stone).
I noticed a wide choice of beers, wines (with some served by the glass), spirits and cocktails. Don’t worry; soft drinks, fruit juices and water are also available!
It was nice to be there at the same time a group of locals were busy celebrating a friend’s Birthday. It was a merry atmosphere! Part of the decorations included posters of iconic singers and bands famous in the 80s, reminding us of an amazing music era.
Easy to get there from the Thames sides and close to the Central area (Pimlico Station less than 10 minutes walking and Victoria Station or MI6 around 15 minutes walks).
Attentive service with all-time smiles connected with good food, clean toilette (men and women), impressive option to use Tastecard discount on Friday and Saturday up to 10 people.
To couples, groups of friends and why not singles, we absolutely recommend food and drink at this 19th century pub for either Friday or Saturday evening!
