The brain-child of award-winning chef, the late Jean-Claude, who had the pleasure to cook for the president of the Mauritius at one point in his life, Cote d’Azur is a delightful fusion restaurant that brings a wealth of tantalising flavours to the tables of South Croydon.

Translated from French Riviera, the menu at Cote d’Azur is based around the cuisines of India, France and the Mauritius, making the selection as diverse as it is extensive.

Any dining experience at Cote d’Azur is only to be enhanced for those in possession of a tastecard, as members of the dining club are promised a fantastic discount on all of the flavoursome food served on the a la carte menu, providing they call in advance and produce their card upon arrival. This allows them the perfect excuse to sample more than the one course, allowing them to thoroughly enjoy the meal without swaying from the budget.

The star of the show at Cote d’Azur can certainly be seen in the form of the seafood, with a wealth of delectable options available for all that care to partake, though there are also a number of grill, burger and pasta options available for those looking for something a little different, which serves to meet the needs of many a taste and appetite. All of such is served in the warm and friendly atmosphere that is synonymous with the French Riviera and makes for a fine spot to enjoy some quality time with friends and family.

Please note: You must make a booking in advance mentioning tastecard, failure to do so will result in the offer not being valid. Only one card per booking is accepted. The tastecard discount is not available on bank holidays or celebration days – including, but not limited to, Valentine’s Day, Mothering Sunday, Father's Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and you must also book in advance and mention the tastecard to be entitled to the discount. The discount is also not available on special nights such as wine and cheese night.

It took ten minutes before we got a menu. A couple who came in after us were then asked for their order before us despite us looking at the staff and having our menus away. I even told them we were ready and got told they'd be with us shortly. It wasn't until 19:50 that we ordered our food and some drinks. We sat waiting patiently for any sign of our drinks but to add insult tables who were ordering after us were getting drinks/ bread baskets. It got to 20:05 hours and after a 40 minute wait we had no water, no wine, no food. We got up and left the restaurant and there was not even an apology from staff. Staff seemed completely overwhelmed and incompetent. Will not be returning. We went to the little bay restaurant down the road and had bread and wine within 2 minutes of entering, despite not pre-booking "
