The Black Lion sits just over Blackfriars Bridge, the gateway between the cities of Salford and Manchester. It’s close to Manchester Cathedral, Salford Museum and Art Gallery, Salford University and the Arndale shopping centre. Within walking distance of Salford Central and Manchester Victoria rail stations and the Exchange Square tram stop, the pub is an easy stop off on a visit to one of the two neighbouring cities.
Inside, The Black Lion has stayed true to its roots. There’s a well-stocked bar, comfortable booth seating and original tiling on the walls. There are plenty of cosy spots to be found in which to enjoy a pie and a pint.
The pies at The Black Lion are all provided by the award-winning Pieminster. Diners can choose from creations like the Matador, British beef steak with added chorizo and olives, or the Moo & Blue, flavoured with plenty of tasty stilton cheese.
