Located in the centre of Gee Cross village near Hyde, Stables is a family run restaurant specialising in modern British cuisine.
Chef patron Tim Mason’s cooking has been attracting foodies from the area since opening the restaurant in 2007 and a recent refurbishment has kept the restaurant feeling fresh, comfortable and atmospheric.
Stables has become renowned locally for the quality of the food and service. Tim is passionate about quality, local produce and has developed relationships with suppliers to ensure he gets the best quality available for use in his dishes, all of which are stylishly presented on contemporary crockery.
Everything is made fresh from scratch in the kitchen including all stocks, sauces, terrines and desserts Open for relaxed lunches from seasonal menus including light bites of freshly prepared gourmet sandwiches, Panini, soups to more substantial mains and indulgent desserts.
In the evenings, the 30-cover restaurant moves up a gear to provide an intimate relaxed atmosphere and an accomplished A la Carte menu supplemented with daily changing specials. Expect starters such as a charcuterie plate to share or Mediterranean-inspired warm salads and Bruschetta. While mains offer a choice of local 21 day aged steaks with a choice of sauces, American style slow cooked beef short ribs, fresh fish dishes like pan fried sea bass and a seafood platter with scallops, tiger prawns, sea bass and scampi.
There is also a good choice of meat-free dishes. The wine list offers plenty of wines by the glass, a range of world wines and a selection of bottled beers from around the world.
Stables is a fabulous spot for enjoying great food in a warm, atmospheric environment.
Please Note: Booking after 6pm on Friday and Saturday is essential as these nights are very busy. If space is available members will be accepted to use the discount on these nights.These tables can be booked at the manager's discretion. The tastecard discount is not available on the set/special menus or the Sunday lunch menu.
