When asking for the bill we handed the Taste card to our waitress who took it away to make the bill up. Unfortunately she then returned to say that because we didn't mention Tastecard at time of booking we couldn't use the card!! Given that we did not book and that when we entered the restaurant (at 6pm so was almost empty) we asked about using the card and received a positive response I think this is wholly unfair. On a bill of nearly £70 we would only have saved £7.50 but nonetheless I think it was poor. "

We received a warm welcome by a friendly waiter and were asked where we wanted to sit (not just dumped anywhere because we were using the Taste card). After ordering , the food arrived quickly and was a revelation. Tasty, spicy and simply delicious. As others have said, this is not a cheap restaurant, but in my opinion the food is hard to beat. I can think of only one Indian restaurant that bettered the Indian Ocean, and that is in Bangalore! The Taste card was willingly accepted and the cost of our meal for two, without starter but with drinks was a respectable £32. The only problem - as the headline says, this restaurant is located 170 miles too far south, but if we are anywhere near Bournemouth again we will definite be feasting at the Indian Ocean again. "
