Nestled in the heart of the historic market town, The Epworth Tap opens its doors to all customers with a love for fine food and even finer wine.
The town itself is steeped in history, and the ‘Tap’ is no exception. In days gone by the building opened up to locals as a sweetshop until finally becoming the well-renowned restaurant and bistro it is today. Featuring on the town’s popular ‘Ghost walks’ Steve and Sarah often joke to customers that ‘If they are not in, the ghost always will be!’
With a passion for serving fresh local ingredients wherever possible, and an ever-changing menu: there will always be something to please all taste buds. The highly-trained chef orders seafood fresh from the Grimsby coast and seasonal vegetables from local farms and they are confident that it is these factors that are the reason why Leslie Garratt complemented them as her favourite restaurant!
When you step off the streets of Epworth into the warmth of the ‘Tap’ you will be greeted with a friendly and relaxing rustic atmosphere. The decor embraces a ‘continental’ feel with gentle lighting, inviting scenery and a traditional wine-bar. Perfect for a romantic dinner by candlelight on one of their tables for two, or for an enjoyable escape from the office with colleagues for a working-lunch.
The Epworth Tap offers a fantastic place to eat, that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
Please note: this restaurant asks that diners adhere to 'The Spirit of tastecard'.

TT: " Lovely warm welcome. Told to browse the menu board and not rushed whilst we had drinks. Shown to our table, a bit small but not cramped. We did not have to wait long for the food. Starters were ample and well presented. Waitresses polite and asked if our food was good. The mains were outstanding both in presentation and flavours and the meats (duck/belly pork) were cooked beautifully. Nice cosy atmosphere and warm. Welcoming goodbye too. We were a little late arriving which they were ok with. Difficult to park with not knowing area but at the end of the road is a park area where you cud park. Overall a excellent experience, one where you want to go to try all the other courses in the menu!"
