Distinct, exposed brickwork walls are adorned with local art and are matched by bespoke, dark wood furniture that set the tone of class in this Victorian building. Begin the experience with some enticing appetisers, with carnivorous options such as the exquisite picked crab, drizzled with a lemon and honey dressing and complete with an apple salad and toasted rye bread, and the divine confit corn fed chicken, paired with a wild mushroom and prosciutto salad. Herbivorous palates will appreciate the candy beetroot carpaccio, topped with feta cheese and pinenuts and served with a balsamic dressed rocket salad, and the honey roast bitter squash soup, topped with parmesan shavings. For the main course there are similarly sublime dishes to be enjoyed, include a rich treacle glazed pork loin, presented with a parsnip puree, caramelised apples and creamed celeriac, a delicious pan fried seabass fillet, served with vanilla baby leeks and buttered crushed potatoes, and a hearty wild mushroom stuffed with goats cheese and chestnut cannellom.
