The Bali Brasserie is a great example of the often overlooked food to come out of Indonesia and Malaysia. While Indian, Chinese and (to a lesser extent) Thai food have become staples of the UK dining scene, this corner of the Pacific remains fresh and unusual. You'll find, at this seafront restaurant, a broad and eclectic array of dishes. If you're familiar already with the regional specialities, you'll be happy to find everything present and correct here - the rendang and the mee goreng are both subtly flavoured and very tasty indeed. If it's relatively new to you, the staff are knowledgeable and attentive and will help you choose well. It's certainly worth the effort. The restaurant combines some stylish contemporary design and a little oriental kitsch, without ever being overbearing. Certainly, it's a great place to settle in and relax over a good meal.
