Specialising in Tandoori dishes, known to be a lighter option, Fetcham Tandoori was already on course with regard to healthy choices. But by using alternatives like low fat yoghurt in dishes such as Chicken Tikka Masala and reducing the levels of fat, salt and sugar overall, the restaurant ticked all the right boxes to earn that esteemed Silver Award. The Surrey curry club was established by Fetcham Tandoori in 2004 to recognise and promote restaurants that prepare their food within legal guidelines using minimum additives and minimum colouring. Part of the scheme was to try and educate the public not to expect curries to be bright in red colour.
