About Jasmine Brick Lane

Found on Brick Lane in London, a stone's throw away from such iconic landmarks as the Gherkin, Tower Bridge, and the Tower of London, Jasmine Brick Lane is the place to go for authentic Indian and Punjabi cuisine. Their chef, who can boast to have won the Master Chef Delhi Award amongst numerous others, is passionate about the creation of low-fat dishes that use no artificial colourings, flavours or preservatives, yet still manages to maintain the taste and presentation expected of a top class curry house. The team at Jasmine Brick Lane take pride in their use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients that are cooked using traditional tandoori ovens to ensure that the taste buds are tantalised in every single mouthful. This is more than apparent in a starters list that includes the usual suspects in the poppadom, samosa and onion bhaji plates that sit alongside a range of kebabs and puris that are just perfect for whetting the appetite, but are also sublime options to be shared in a tapas style for the less gluttonous diner (or for those that simply can't choose just one). The stars of the show however come in the extensive selection of main courses on offer, where the expected Tandoori, Balti, and Biryani delights work with a range of specials and sizzlers in a menu that is fit to meet the needs of any palate. Recommended are the award-winning dishes at Jasmine Brick Lane, which come in the form of the chicken or lamb tikka blast and the tandoori king prawn blast. Meanwhile, the Royale dishes, such as the uri besi gata, a sumptuous bhuna style curry with beans, green pepper, onions and the diner's choice of lamb or chicken, and the sweet mincemeat accompanied tandoori king prawn delight, which comes smothered in a coconut sauce, can be judged to be just as potent. The chef's specials, like the spicy murgh aloo rezella and the mild butter chicken, allow eager diners a look into the mind of the creator, while the Karahi and tandoori sizzling platters serve to provide a spectacle as well as an exquisite feast. No Indian restaurant with an ounce of self-respect would be without a multitude of vegetarian dishes and Jasmine Brick Lane is no different. More herbivorous members of the party are sure to revel in the likes of the creamy saag paneer, a tasty spinach and cheese number, the aubergine based brinjal bhaji, and the saag cauliflower with spinach.
