About Marwell Hotel

The Marwell Hotel is a family friendly, inviting countryside hotel with an excellent reputation for providing fantastic service and first class food from expert chef Phil Yeoman. The hotel here is a bit different to what you'd expect to find from a family hotel. Situated in the midst of Colden Common in Winchester, the hotel can certainly be classed as a retreat - and with a specialist wellbeing centre to boot - it's a peaceful place for a getaway, overlooking mature countryside and woodland. The food here more than lives up to the expectations. Phil Yeoman, the Executive Chef, brings with him years of experience chefing in some of the country's most prestigious hotels such as The Dorchester and Soho House. Additionally, as head chef at nearby Lainston House, Phil was awarded three AA Rosettes and kept them for an astonishing seven years. It's clear therefore that at Marwell House the food on offer will be second to none. Described as being traditionally English with a modern twist, the approach looks to embrace local producers and suppliers as well as working with them to encourage the ability to make creative and innovative dishes. The fine dining menu here is carefully crafted and often exceeds customers? expectation. Situated in fine woodland, in a secluded and tranquil spot, the restaurant at Marwell Hotel is well worth a visit. With highly trained and expert chefs, as well as a wide menu that utilises a variety of local produce, the informal setting here suits the style of cooking and what the team here have achieved. To be highly recommended. Feast your eyes upon the elegantly presented dishes, guaranteed to taste as good as they look. Ravenous appetites appeased, guests can take an unhurried stroll through the surrounding woodlands.
