Maaya Indian Kitchen and Bar is an independently owned Indian restaurant - the first of its kind in The Hub in central Milton Keynes. It opened February 2016 and has since strived to offer the perfect experience, combining a relaxed, comfortable environment with freshly cooked Indian cuisine and excellent customer service. Award winning restaurateur Mo Abdul has helped create an eatery which will cater well for local businesses and the after-work crowd, as well as Milton Keynes residents who love great Indian food. Maaya Indian Kitchen and Bar is very much at home amongst its trendy neighbours in The Hub. Inside, the restaurant's bright airiness is complemented by elegant dark decor, hot and cold lighting combinations, contemporary varnished wood, glistening marble floors and low-key patterned walls. The chairs are pleasingly plush, with booth seating also available. From the moment you enter this modern Indian restaurant, you will receive professional, courteous service by a dedicated team of staff. Head chef Salam has poured every ounce of his passion and expertise into creating the ideal menu, taking inspiration from generations of family cooking and travel throughout India to create a unique mix of the traditional and the modern, and everything is made from scratch using only the freshest of locally sourced ingredients. Appetisers include quail golden fry, grilled scallops, Chingri chaap, and chili paneer. A range of street snacks can be ordered, including spicy chili chicken, Keema pau, onion Bhajees, and Khatti Meethi Dahl Puri. You can also order several tandoori dishes, or try the traditional Thali. Old favourites like chicken tikka Masala and lamb Jalfrezi are joined by more adventurous options such as Dhaba chicken, Chetinaidu, railway mutton curry, and Konkan prawn curry. Vegetarian dishes available include coconut cabbage, Baigun bartha, Kadai Paneer, Hydrebadi aloo Ravia and gobi masala. A trip to Maaya Indian Kitchen and Bar is a must for anyone wishing to see Indian cooking done with real passion, and tastecard members can enjoy 2 for 1 on the food menu when they book in advance.
