Have you ever wondered who invented the ‘brunch’? A stateside chap by the name of Guy Beringer came up with brunch, or so it is claimed, in the Victorian era. In an 1895 London review called Hunter’s Weekly, Beringer made a case for a meal that would sit between an early breakfast and lunch. His article was called, “Brunch: A Plea,” and he proposed that a casual, late Sunday breakfast, “would make life brighter for Saturday night carousers”. Every day is a learning day!
He also suggested that alcoholic drinks might be served, so we can thank him for making a place at the brunch table for prosecco and the like.
If you’d rather stay in the city centre, but you’d prefer to patronise an independent rather than a chain? We’ve got you. Why not have a look at the fabulously cool menu offered by Brunchin’? Based in the heart of Liverpool city centre, serving both brunch classics and innovative vegetarian and vegan dishes, you’re not going to beat this place if what you really want is a dollop of trendy and a side serving of cool vibes.
We are big fans of the ‘All You Can Meat’ breakfast option which allows you to wrap your laughing gear around a 4oz sirloin steak, thick-cut breakfast sausage, two pieces of back bacon, two free-range eggs, black pudding, hash browns, baked beans, and homemade sourdough. If you can wade your way through that and still have room for a bit of shopping and sightseeing then you are truly one of us!
Not only do they serve a fabulous array of breakfast options but all the juices are freshly squeezed - in fact, there is a separate juice bar where you can find the ‘Purple DolceVita’ just the ticket to kick off the day in style and vitality. Blueberries, raspberries, bananas, lime, ginger, and coconut milk. Simply exquisite.
You’ll find Brunchin’ Liverpool on the 1st floor, 24 Richmond Street, Williamson Square Liverpool L1 1EF and when you show your tastecard as you ask for your bill, you can be sure of 25% off your total. Nourishment and money saving in one fell swoop. Nice work.
