The Mayfair Chippy

The first stop on our journey to find the best fish and chips in London takes us to the heart of Mayfair and is just a stone’s throw from Grosvenor Park. The Mayfair Chippy is a delightful restaurant that takes pride in having modern twists on British classics, as well as dishes crafted to near perfection.

For a classic dish, the fish and chips at The Mayfair are delightful and a must-try.

Elements Bar at Novotel Hotel

Onto the next one! The Elements Bar at Novotel Hotel in Paddington is definitely one of our favourite places for fish and chips in London. This four-star hotel is not only a lovely place to stay the night in the capital, but they also serve a delicious plate of fish and chips. They also have a great selection of light bites and drinks for you to relax with.

The Elements Bar is situated in a great place in London too, with easy access to transport links, making it an ideal place for visitors.

The Hercules Pillars

For our next stop, we head over to Holborn to find one of the best places for fish and chips in London. The Hercules Pillars is a wonderful restaurant that’s a favourite in the local community. It attracts visitors from around the city - including us! - and we highly recommend it. If you’re looking for tasty fish and chips in a delightful pub atmosphere, this is the place for you.

This warm, cosy restaurant offers a great place to stop with friends and family.

The Tommyfield

Just down the road from Lambeth and Elephant and Castle is Kennington, home to The Tommyfield. This historic landmark was opened to mark the 150th anniversary of the first British chip shop at Tommyfield Market in Oldham. It’s inspired by Victorian chop houses and food markets, with their menu boasting sustainably-sourced fish from the English coast. As well as that, The Tommyfield serves a brilliant pie and mash!

The Royal Oak Pimlico

Now, let’s head right back into the heart of the city! The Royal Oak is a gorgeous spot to eat if you’re a fan of fish and chips. The Royal Oak has been around since 1831 and is the epitome of a traditional British pub, offering locally-sourced, home-cooked food. As well as fish and chips, The Royal Oak offers peri-peri chicken wings, venison scotch eggs, chicken tikka masala, and much more. It’s a delightful spot to take a step back in time and still sample delicious dishes.

Hudson’s House at St. Giles Hotel

If you’ve spent the day in the British History Museum and now you’ve got a raging appetite for fish and chips, Hudson’s House is just down the road. Head here to taste delicious battered fish and chips that will satisfy your hunger.

Serving a fantastically British menu, this fabulous London eatery allows you to enjoy a stylish dining experience with a wealth of options to choose from. Although, we always go for fish and chips!

Sway Kitchen

The penultimate stop on our journey around the best places to eat fish and chips in London takes us to Sway Kitchen in Holborn. This wonderful restaurant is home to one of the best fish and chips dishes we’ve tasted in the capital city, having the perfect blend of crunch and taste. If you’re in the Holborn area and feeling peckish, head to Sway Kitchen for a delightful meal!

St. Martin’s House

Last but not least, we have St. Martin’s House in Soho. Just a stone’s throw away from Leicester Square, this brilliantly British restaurant offers a real taste of England. Sample some traditional dishes with modern twists, as well as some of the finest fish and chips in London.
