Cinema spotlight: Spider-Man: Brand New Day reviewed

"As a huge Marvel fan, and with Spider-Man being my favourite superhero, this was one film I couldn't wait to see. My husband and I headed to our local cinema on Sunday morning, joining thousands of other fans eager to see what happens next for Peter Parker.

Tom Holland once again proves why he's the perfect Spider-Man. He captures Peter Parker's awkward charm brilliantly, while also showing a much tougher, more determined side of the character than we've seen before. The addition of Jon Bernthal as The Punisher is another real highlight, with the pair sharing some fantastic moments throughout the film.

Picking up where No Way Home left off, Brand New Day takes the story in an exciting new direction. Don't worry, there are no spoilers here, but from start to finish I was completely entertained. The action sequences are spectacular, the humour lands perfectly, and the visual effects are everything you'd expect from a Marvel blockbuster.

Running at almost two and a half hours, it never felt like it dragged. There was plenty of heart alongside the action, making it a film that should satisfy both long-time Marvel fans and anyone looking for a fun trip to the cinema."

Whether you've followed Spider-Man from the beginning or simply enjoy a big-screen action adventure, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is well worth watching. If you're planning your next cinema trip, this is one blockbuster you won't want to miss.
